Pete gave me an invite to GMail. It’s really well done, better than I expected. I haven’t had a chance to use it too much, but the nice thing about it is that it groups conversations together, making it look like a conversation on a bulletin board or something. The interface is more mature than any web interface I’ve seen before. It will probably be my main acct after I leave lehigh. If you want the address, ask me, I’m not sure how public I’m going to make it (to avoid spam).
An article on the long-term political effects of abortion. I read it as slightly tongue-in-cheek, but who knows. Some interesting fun with numbers.
I was approved for a presidential scholarship today. For the non-LU readers, that means a free year of Lehigh tuition after I graduate. Not sure if I’ll use it, but it’s a good option to have open.
Nothing like some Digital Rights Management to get me going. You can spend $2.99 at amazon to buy an e-book version of the Constitution. It’ll only work with Microsoft Reader. On top of that, you can only print it out twice a year (no joke, but it should be). From the comments of an amazon user: “Imagine if the original had such restrictions; it would have taken only seven years to send a copy all thirteen colonies.”
Found this via Larry Lessig’s post.
It’s a good thing that financial management doesn’t work like rights management. We’d all be losing a lot of money.
Lee Iaccoca endorses John Kerry. Interesting since he campaigned hard for George W. last time around. He mentions Lehigh, too!
Mark your calendar, July 15th is National Party for the President Day! http://www.georgewbush.com/Party/PartyEvent.aspx
Sadly, I’m not kidding.
I’m subscribing to several political blogs tonight in an effort to get some interesting discourse with the upcoming election. We’ll see how that goes. I think I’ve subscribed to as many blogs as I can keep up with without ignoring a lot of stuff.
At the very least, I can get some good recipes from Laura Bush
My updated OPML list is available online. OPML is an XML description of all of the RSS feeds I read with my aggregator. There are plenty available for windows, too… this one is free.
