I chased a deer again last night, I might have got closer than last time, I’m not sure. Gotta keep training.
The weekend was ok. We had skidmark last night which was fun. Lots of people had a lot of work to do at night, which made me feel self-conscious about talking with them too much, so I went to city view with Tim and then went to bed.
I’m considering applying to this summer internship program with the NSF. I’m interested because of the variety of locations they have, and I’d like to try living in a different part of the US for some time. I talked with some people about grad school, and now I’m mostly decided that I’ll stay here, but part of me still wants to explore.
I like staying here over the summer, too, the work is good, I know people, and I can get home without a huge hassle. I could also take classes or something if I wanted.
More thought must be put into this stuff. Advice is welcome.
I almost chased down a deer in the snow tonight. I need to work out more, it was hard to run uphill in the snow.
I ran about 3.3 miles today since it was about 30 degrees this afternoon (balmy!). I wore my mp3 player on my arm, which worked well. I strung the cord for the headphones up through the bottom of my shirt through the neck so that it wouldn’t swing around. The run went well, though I doubt I’ll be able to go tomorrow.

Tonight started out seeming pretty bad. After two particularly nonstop days of activity, I was really worn down and had come down with a fever. Because of this, I wasn’t going to the KKY 10th Anniversary/Formal. After sleeping for hours and watching some Law and Order, I started to feel better. I went upstairs and saw that I had a voicemail, from Pete, telling me that T-Ed was there (don’t worry if you don’t get it) and I should have come. I called Pete back and realized I was well enough to go, so I said if someone came and picked me up, I’d shower, put on a suit, and go. Sarah volunteered, which was awesome, so I went.
I had fun at the formal, despite not getting there until 10. It was good to spend time with friends, catch up with alumni, and talk to people from other chapters of KKY. I’m definitely glad I went.
Eventually I made it up to 628, where I ate a piece of cake the size of the Louisiana Purchase. I couldn’t remember the name of the character from family guy who Stewie fell in love with (at day care), which bothered me a lot. I eventually figured it out once I got home, without using anything to help, which made my night complete.
The Onion’s AV club has a great interview with Seth MacFarlane about Family Guy and American Dad. Definitely worth reading if you like the show. Apparently the people who write The Simpsons really hate Family Guy. Maybe it’s because Family Guy is better.
I crossed the path of a dark gray cat twice in one day. I hope that stuff isn’t cumulative.
I made my best omelet yet tonight. It was cooked to perfection… fully done but light and fluffy. It’s good to end the evening on a high note.
Got back from GREs.. it went well, I’m not gonna write too much since my hands are really cold. They have an experimental section mixed in that they don’t tell you about, mine was a really hard math one.. I ran out of time and just guessed on the last 3 questions. Luckily that one didn’t count toward my score. The other math section was much better and I finished with 10 minutes to spare. I scored 600 verbal and 770 math. I would have liked a higher verbal score, but 600 is good enough for the stuff I’m interested in. Now I guess I have to figure out what to do with this.
