Today was the first full day spent in Puerto Rico… I slept in (I got 8 hours of sleep!) and we explored the area a lot today. We walked on the beach for a while and enjoyed great food at a couple of local restaurants. It’s been in the mid to high 80s during the day and low to mid 70s at night. The weather has been a great change, as I was getting tired of the cold.

Everyone here speaks English really well, as expected, though I was hoping to get to use spanish at some point (besides ordering “arroz con pollo”). Tomorrow we’ll spend a bunch of time at the beach.

I’ve enjoyed Puerto Rico so far, maybe even a bit more than I expected. Everyone has been really friendly, and candy is cheap! I hope everything is going well in the states.

¡Buenos Dias!
A quick note from Puerto Rico…
It’s almost 5am (Atlantic time)… I’m awake and everyone else is asleep or very close to it. The trip went well, we arrived at the airport with plenty of time to spare. Gen’s parents made us dinner, which was great, I was really hungry. I have a bag of apples. I hung my coat up in the 1st class coat rack while I was in line for my seat on the plane. I don’t think I was supposed to, but I figured they wouldn’t throw my coat out the window or anything, so it worked out fine (though it was a bit awkward getting it back). My shampoo bottle got cracked a bit in transit, which would have been too bad, but due to bad packing I’m now not worried about getting dandruff in my teeth.

The hotel is nice… it’s an old spanish consulate and we seem to be close to all the important stuff. I’ll have pictures later, I haven’t taken out the camera yet. Free wireless in the hotel is nice, too.

¡Hasta luego!
