I finally “got” Math 230 last night, after a semester of not really knowing what’s going on. I studied from somewhere between 12 and 15 hours and I think it paid off. I really wanted to take the test.. so much that I woke up at 6:40 (after 5.5 hrs of sleep) without an alarm. I finished the test in 1.5 hours after going over every answer and checking it. I don’t think I got 100% on it, but I think I got an A. I might get a B in the class, if I’m lucky. I think I even got the question that asked for a derivation of a richardson extrapolation estimate for a simpson’s rule integration, which was probably the hardest on the test.

I think the problem I had with the first tests was that I studied the theories and tried to memorize all the concepts. This time I studied the problems and only learned about the theories in the way that they were applied. I didn’t have to memorize formulas for this, which was a big help.

Time to start studying for algorithms… one more test to go.
