For windows-using livejournalers, you might be interested in the poorly-named Windows Live Writer. It’s a free blog-posting tool from Microsoft that looks reasonably easy to use and supports a variety of blogging platforms. I haven’t tried it.. I tend to do most of my posting from linux.
If you want a google tshirt, let me know ASAP and I’ll see if I can get one for you. I have some stuff to barter with other interns, so I might be able to get a couple more.
If you search for “google” on Yahoo or MSN, take a look at what you get:

(pictures from Google Blogoscoped)
Does this really help users?
From a ZDNet blog post:
“This could be Yahoo and MSN’s attempt at intercepting these impressionable people and converting them before they begin searching. I wonder why Google doesn’t do the same thing?”
Because… it’s stupid and insulting?
So, when someone searches for “Yahoo”, Google should blatantly ignore what the user requested and try to intercept them? How is that an improvement? They wanted to get to yahoo, so they should be delivered there. Heck, it’d be better if searching for “yahoo” yielded a yahoo search box… isn’t that what they wanted anyway?
Edit: this is my opinion, not google’s, etc etc

If you don’t watch The Colbert Report enough, you won’t get this.
Nobody has sent me pictures from googledance yet, so I’ll post a couple I found on flickr.
From Rotron’s photos:
GOOGLE DANCE in cheese… awesome

Uh oh…

Robot soccer!

They had a thing where you could superimpose your heads on dancing bodies. It was a lot more fun than you’d expect, if the people on stage were good at it.

I’ll post a few better pictures later, including the awesome one, later. Hmm, I’m definitely overselling that picture, but whatever.
Tonight was a lot of fun- I’ll post some pictures (at least one of which is AWESOME) tomorrow. Google Dance provided a welcome break at the end of the workday, as well as a chance to spend time with several friends.
This new Snow Patrol album has some excellent tracks… strongly recommended.
I remember what I had been meaning to post:
I’ll be getting in to PHL at 9:40PM on Saturday August 19th. I’m looking for a ride back from the airport… if you’ll be around and might be able to make the trip, please get in touch with me! (mrcasey@gmail.com is typically the quickest way)
In exchange for a ride, I’ll offer to buy any product from http://www.googlestore.com/ that costs less than $100… or I can just reimburse you for gas if you really don’t want anything Plus, you’ll get an hour of riveting, thought-proving conversation and commentary with me on the topic of your choosing.
