There should be a German cereal called “Gluten Morgen”.
In related news, I should probably get more sleep.

This guy sings a song backwards… I didn’t recognize it until he reversed the audio. I really like all the things he did to prove it wasn’t a camera trick:

This guy does 100 impressions in under 5 minutes. A lot of them aren’t very good, but it’s an impressive feat regardless:

I meant to post this a long time ago, but I don’t think I ever did:
Dismal World: Snapshots from the not-so-happy globe, photographs (some famous) of human cruelty from the last 50 years.
Maybe this is a weird thing to post on Christmas eve, but the more I think about it, the more it seems like the perfect thing to post..

This is ridiculous:
“Environmental Protection Agency chief Stephen Johnson announced the decision Wednesday, refusing [California]’s request for a waiver that would have allowed it to cut emissions faster than a new federal plan the president signed into law Wednesday.”
California will sue the federal government over this, which is good to hear. This sounds like it’d be a ridiculous power for the federal government to have (among others). I hope Arnold calls people “girly men” when he gets sufficiently angry.

I saw the documentary Helvetica last week. As you might guess, it’s about the font Helvetica. If you enjoy learning about design and stuff, I recommend it (otherwise you probably won’t like it). Now as I travel, I can’t help but look at all the fonts used in signs. Helvetica is incredibly popular in modern signs, but it’s easy not to notice it. The documentary has a bunch of montages of font footage along with a pretty good soundtrack.

The Daily Show and Colbert Report will resume Jan 7, with or without writers. Apparently it’ll be mostly ad-libbed (e.g. interviews and stuff). I’m not sure what I think about this..
It’s weird for me to keep up on politics without watching comedy shows about it. It’s a lot more depressing, actually.

This is rather amusing:
Ron Paul has decided to keep a $500 donation from Don Black of West Palm Beach who runs a website called Stormfront whose slogan is “White Pride World Wide.”
As Paul’s campaign explained, it plans to keep the money because that will reduce the cash Black has to spend on spreading his controversial ideology by $500.

Spending a bit of time on the ever-esoteric Onion A.V. Club, a couple of articles of interest:
The worst band names of ‘07, some of which are NSFW, depending on where you work. I’m not sure which is my favorite, but there are a lot of hilarious ones. I think “Butt Stomach” is great because it’s so stupid and succinct.
The Best Music of 2007. I’ve listened to about 3 of their top 25 albums, which is about par for the course. Perhaps I’ll sample a few others.. I tried last year with mixed success.
