How many elements from the periodic table can you name in 15 minutes? I got 33 of 118 (numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 28, 29, 30, 47, 48, 54, 76, 79, 82, 86, 92, 98, 99, and 100). The most embarrassing one I missed was #11. Give it a try.. no cheating! (looking at the scores, I’d guess a high percentage of them are cheating, which seems to defeat the purpose)

I only got 31. I am a pathetic chemistry major. You put me to shame, Matt Casey.
I got 36, but after looking at the ones I missed, I’m not really ashamed. The vast majority of these are not things that you would encounter in everyday life, even if you knew the ingredients of everything you came into contact with. I am sad to see that I missed out on the easy point-inflation of Ununbium-Ununoctium, I couldn’t remember the exact way to compose those names. (Although I would have had some points there if they hadn’t named 102-111 in the meantime, those were Unnilbium - Unununium when I actually learned this stuff in high school.)
@Maggie: I tried it a month ago and only got 31, so let’s say we’re tied.
@Ted: Well done! Yeah, I had a similar reaction when I was done. I was surprised by how much of the table was obscure elements nobody cares about.
