With Democrats like these…

who needs Republicans?

Amazing. Simply amazing. And Obama voted for this, apparently. I still think he’d make a better president than McCain, but my faith in him has been severely compromised. Now I’m sorely tempted to vote for someone running independently, or to write somebody in. Suggestions?

It’s not worth a write-in at this point (especially in PA!). I need to do some more reading on this subject, because I haven’t had anyone explain the “other side” of the issue to me. Perhaps this weekend.

Other side, you say? I was unaware there was one. The only side I know about is that this bill (soon to be law) will basically close the book on the warrantless wiretaps. The telephone companies that complied with the illegal wiretaps will be granted immunity, and as a result the Bush administration’s wiretapping practices won’t be scrutinized by the courts, and no one will be held accountable for their crimes. If I’m missing something, I’d love to hear about it.

I’m hoping to do some reading this weekend on this subject, so I’ll write about what I find.
