There’s a meme on the internet of the business plan that looks like:
1. Build X
2. ???
3. Profit.
Basically, it’s the business plan for if you have something cool but no idea how to make money from it. You can replace step 1 with just about anything. You can’t, however, do this (as I saw someone do at Google recently):
1. Charge users for X.
2. ???
3. Profit
I decided not to point this out.

It’s hilarious. It would seem your coworker missed the point a bit, though.
Hah, I didn’t know it came from there, I’ll have to see if my roommate has that episode.
