Well… Matt looks like you are at the airport… not sure if you had a chance to see the debate. I was in a room with 3 others… In my opinion, I thought Biden completely obliterated Palin. I was annoyed with how she didn’t answer any question, and stubbornly went with prepared lines. However, the other three people I was with thought that Palin was stronger. They noted that she actually looked into the camera, her cadence was better, and her appearance looked a lot better than Joe. They also said that the majority of the American people are dumb, and therefore, they will buy the rhetoric that Palin was spewing. I could agree in the sense that on camera, she did look better, but although she didn’t make any mistakes, her content was essentially pre-written rhetoric. I was truly relieved when the post-debate polls showed that the majority of the American people supported my view that Biden was stronger.
However, along those lines… we had the fortune of tuning into 2 focus groups one after the other… the first on “Fox News” of supposedly all undecideds had almost the entire room (and I kid you not) saying Palin won… then we tuned into CNN and its focus group of supposed undecideds appeared to be split almost 50/50 (though the moderator said slightly more for Bidens). I just thought this was funny, and more revelation of the crap of news.

Yeah, anything with those focus groups seems statistically meaningless and distracting. I can’t stand to watch any pre- or post-debate analysis on TV.
