From Cindy McCain’s speech:
My son has served on the front lines. Let me tell you, the day Senator Obama decided to cast a vote not to fund my son when he was serving sent a cold chill through my body, let me tell you. I suggest that Senator Obama change shoes with me for just one day and see what it means to have a loved one serving in the armed forces, and, more importantly, serving in harm’s way.

One thing I always respected about McCain’s campaign was that he kept his kids out of it, for real, as I wrote before:
[McCain] explicitly keeps his kids out of anything political. In the bio on his site, it barely mentions them, and he refuses to answer questions about them. Two of his sons are serving in Iraq, so it would work well politically to bring them in, and I respect his restraint. All the other candidates have involved their children in some way.
Like I said, all the other candidates use their kids in some way, I’m just a bit disappointed to see the McCains get into it too.
