Last Friday, I finally saw Slumdog Millionaire. It was great, and I recommend seeing it in the theater if you can. Besides being a great story, it aptly combined stunning views of India with frenetic camera work and a driving soundtrack. For today’s music, I’ve selected the music from the chase scene at the start of the film. It loses a whole lot on the small screen (especially since I couldn’t find a higher-quality version of it), but the excitement of the chase reminds me of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, while the slum setting is reminiscent of City of God.

Side note: the game show host in the movie reminded me of Dennis Miller.

I loved that movie. I would definitely agree with the Dennis Miller description of the host. I was surprised when I heard MIA in the soundtrack, and then I found out she was Indian which was also surprising. It isn’t everyday you hear a Indian rapper make it big in the States. Also, who doesn’t like a dance video staring the cast?
Yeah, it was a neat musical combination. The dance video at the end was great, too (though my roommate didn’t like it for some reason).
